Mazepa Nikolai Nikolaevich was born on January 16 in 1959 in the Chernigov region. He graduated from the Kharkov Railway Institute in 1981.

He worked in the department of building and exploitation of automobile roads, then he was a post-graduate at the same institute. Later he was recruited to work for the organs of the Internal Affairs. He graduated from the National Academy of Law, extramural department.

After the retirement from the organs of the Internal Affairs he initiated creation of a corporation "Veterans of the Security Militia". The main aim of the organization is to look for a job for former workers of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs retired because of being wounded, sick or aged.

On the initiative of Mazepa N.N. in Kharkov, in the Sotsialisticheskaia , 2-zh he built a monument for citizens of Kharkov who died during the Great Patriotic War.

For his merits Mazepa N.N. was recognized as a Laureat of the all-national competition "Business Man of Ukraine", and also as a Laureat of the regional competition " The Citizen of Kharkov of 2001" and " The Citizen of Kharkov of 2002".He has been awarded orders and medals of the ministry of the Internal Affairs, international rewards, diplomas of honor by social organizations and by a diploma of the metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir, metropolitan of Kharkov and Bogoduhovni Nikodim and of the bishop of Summy and Ohtyrski Jova several times.

Mazepa N.N. is the founder of the regional social organization "Cossacks Troop after Hetman Mazepa". He is also the founder of the research center of the Cossacks after Hetman Mazepa.

Mazepa N.N. is a deputy and the head of the commission on problems of legality and observation of the law in the Lenin district council of Kharkov.

In 2004 he was appointed commander-in-chief of the Eastern Ukrainian Military District of the URC by Hetman of the URC Shevchenko A.A. Mazepa N.N. was also given the rank colonel general of the URC.
