The poetic creation by Taras Shevchenko is the glory and respect of the Ukrainian poetry. It has enriched the Ukrainian literature with not only new genres and topics, but with new characters. That is why his poetry won the recognition of the people during the poet's life.

At present the great poet is not forgotten. His "Prychina", "Kateryna", "Son", "Eretic", "Caucasus", "Zapovit" are loved and studied at schools and universities, by people of different social layers and people of different professions.

This year the Ukrainian society celebrated the 192 th anniversary of birth of Taras Grigorovich Shevchenko. This is the cause of the festive meetings and "open lessons" have taken place in different places of our country.

In the city Donetsk there took place meetings and laying flowers at the monument of the coryphaeus of the Ukrainian literature. Representatives of the regional state administration, the city administration with Alexandr Lukianchenko at the head, representatives of the Voroshilovski executive committee, of universities and schools, the community of the city and our respected guest - the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Vladimir Litvin - came together that cold March morning to pay tribute and to bow their heads before the poet who always dreamt about the better life of his people.

When the poet was writing about the historical past of our people, he thought about that life which he saw around himself. He thought how to help the people to become free, to live with love to their brothers. According to the poet, that was the premise of the happy future of the people. When the poet appealed to his descendants, to the future, he called not to forget the past in which they had historical lessons, the examples and the foundation for the future.

Basing on the experience of out fathers and being educated on the creation of the great genius of the Ukrainian people, representatives of the Ukrainian Cossacks build their happy future. On March 9th the student regiment of the URC together with the citizens of Donetsk also gave tribute to the memory of the great poet Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko by laying flowers to the monument.
